Fig & Olive is absolutely a perfect brunch spot for sophisticated birthday parties, engagement parties, wedding showers, baby showers, bridesmaid luncheons- you name it. Located in the Meatpacking District, the room is laid out spaciously to be able to have your own privacy while still feeling like you are in public and at a fun restaurant. The never ending tall walls are lined with gorgeous bottles of wine, candles, flowers, olive oil. During brunch hour, the light shines through the restaurant adding in natural cheer – even during wintertime. The staff is very accommodating, professional and service oriented. The menu appeals to all diets, eaters, shapes and sizes for that matter. Start off with the Heirloom Baby Beat & Burrata. A garden taste electrocutes your mouth instantly and the mix of several different colored tomatoes bursting with flavor is unforgettable. Someone also must order the Carrot Soup. It’s a little chunky yet pureed and healthy and comforting all at the same time as it’s dairy free.
Vegetarian Quiche
Everything at Fig & Olive is top notch. The vegetarian quiche turned me into a quiche believer for the first time. An egg pie full of dense mushrooms, spinach, cheese, shallot tastes exquisite in the morning and doesn’t feel like it will ruin your diet. Yes, I know there is crust but it’s better than eating a real sugary pie! The Shrimp & Salmon Salad is another great option for brunch if you aren’t looking for something breakfasty. They really give you a fair amount of seafood here. Also, don’t miss the Truffle Mushroom Croquettes. These poppers will be gone as soon as you begin to place a second order.
If you are headed in the dessert lane, go for the brownie like Chocolate Souffle with. It’s hot, chocoaltey and mixes well with that blistering cold ice cream. The Caramelized Apple Tart is way better than I expected. It’s thin layers of dough with abundant apples won’t fill you up too much and is just the right amount of sweet you were craving after brunch. Fig & Olive offers an atmosphere for celebration, special occasions and the kind of spot and food you can rely on for your special day.
