I’ve never thought more about a dessert (or a dish for that matter) more than I have about this edible cookie dough called Cookie DŌ that’s made/shipped from New York City. These containers which come in 8 oz., 16 oz. or 32 oz. are edible, bakeable and customizable. The DŌ is delivered in colored pints that look like retro ice cream containers making it a perfect size to eat directly out of. There really isn’t a flavor that Kristen Tolman,DŌ founder, doesn’t make. I don’t think I can accurately express how unbelievable this creation is. Yes, we all know I have a cookie obsession, but what you don’t know is that I never choose cookie dough over baked cookies. Therefore, the fact that I keep craving this concoction is insane. To be clear, yes it may look exactly like your typical cookie dough, but it’s a little denser and less grainy than the dough you make from that Nestle Tollhouse recipe.
On to the flavors. My absolute favorite is the Salty & Sweet. Sugar, Caramel Swirl, Dark Chocolate Chips and Sea Salt creates an explosion in your mouth followed by extreme addiction. You won’t be able to stop. It’s smooth, crunchy from the chips, salty and sweet. This might be one of the only things you’ll polish off in one sitting that you won’t feel guilty about. I don’t even want to know how many cookies an 8 oz. container makes up. Next, I’m into the Confetti. It’s Signature Chocolate Chip with Sprinkles and White Chocolate Chips. Make sure you get some white chocolate chips in each scoop. It surprisingly makes a difference. The Signature Chocolate Chip is the most satisfying and you won’t down this one immediately. You can savor this one a little more easily. I also liked the Trail Mix which is Oatmeal based with M&M’s, Pretzels and Sea Salt. To be honest, the pretzels get a little stale, but the oatmeal consistency is great. They do offer most flavors in gluten free but skip the Butterfinger Blondie. I didn’t try the chocolate-based DŌ because I thought it might be too rich. However, since I tried these flavors, a Grain Free Cookie Dough line has launched with flavors such as: Breakfast Banana Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Chickpea Chocolate Chip. They are free of: grains, butter, gluten, dairy and sugar. Paleo friends rejoice!

It must be stored in the refrigerator or freezer because it contains perishable ingredients. It lasts for 3 weeks, and if you can seriously make it last for three weeks then you are obviously a crazy person who has inexplicable self-control. Baking this dough is another option but no need. Just eat it out of the container and your life instantly becomes rainbows and unicorns. No joke.
I don’t know about you but this is a perfect snack for an office birthday party, celebration, dinner party, etc. This will hands down be the talk of the rest of the day or evening and you’ll look like a god. Buy Cookie DŌ and impress your friends.

***While there isn’t a storefront yet in New York, you can arrange for pick-up free of charge in Herald Square, 59th and Lexington or Downtown Brooklyn. Delivery in Manhattan is a flat fee of $15 and Brooklyn/Queens is $30. DŌ also offers shipping options to 48 states. I’m sure this is as expensive as a nice dinner out on the town, but trust me once you experience your first bite you will feel redemption.
